Thank you for writing this. Now I don't have too. I retired to this "idyllic" community on the North Coast of America to find myself smack day in the middle of Trump Country. Every day, I pass more signs and flags than I count gracing the front porches of my neighbors saying "Fuck Biden" or "Screw Democrats". I just finished running two local elections and had flyers strewn across my lawn every morning saying "No Demrats" and the eyes gouged and crossed out of the candidates faces. Disconcerting at the least.

And in the interest of full disclosure, I am certainly guilty of commenting "Fuck them" about opponents on occasions too numerous to count. But I don't say it to school kids riding the bus past my house. I don't drape my Christmas Tree with it. And I don't try to scare my neighbors with anonymous threats.
