…round because he refused to make a case as to why voters should prefer him to the former president. It’s hard to argue that you’d be better than your opponent if you won’t criticize the other guy.

So true. I've been running campaigns for 50 years, and if a candidate doesn't come out in a compare and contrast as better than the other gal / guy, then why will a voter choose them?
