Tucker Carlson’s Lesson in What to Do When Your Lawyer Abandons You

When all else fails, tell the truth

For just a brief moment there, things seemed to be going from bad to worse for Tucker Carlson who is the top cable news commentator in the country and a darling of the Republican Party.

Dragged into court by a slander lawsuit that accused him of anti-immigration and racist comments that had resulted in the loss of major advertisers for his employer Fox News, it looked like he couldn’t possibly win. But then his lawyers got the bright idea that his best defense was actually to tell the truth.

“You literally can’t believe the facts Tucker Carlson tells you,” they told the judge. And therefore it’s not slander.

Maybe justice really IS blind. (Photo by Tingey Injury Law Firm on Unsplash)

Lawyers portraying you as guilty as the day is long would, in any world other than the one we live in, ruin your day.

This would kind of be like your attorney telling the judge she should let you off of that DWI charge because everyone in town knows you’re a drunk and should have stayed off the road after the bars closed realizing you would be driving home.

On any other day, this defense might be labeled as “rats deserting the Carlson sinking ship” and doomed to failure.
